MEDICAL RADIATION TECHNOLOGIST- CT TECH

Elysian Imaging and Diagnostics is looking for a casual CT Tech for vacation relief.


The CT Radiation Technologist works independently to perform CT exams in accordance with departmental policy and procedures, observing safe radiation protection practices. This private imaging facility strives to provide patients with a compassionate, professional experience. We work collaboratively with other modality techs and clerical staff to maintain effective patient and clinic workflow.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs examinations in CT in accordance with site protocols, policy and procedures, while maintaining a high level of patient care including Cardiac CTA exams.

  • Ability to work alone and make decisions on scan based on patient pathology.

  • Monitors patient during and after exam for possible contrast media reactions or other situations, in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • May be required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the event of an emergency.

  • Utilizing RIS and PACS systems to verify patient and image information.

  • Facilitates the workflow such as checking information on requisitions, checking for prior images.

  • Perform venipuncture for all contrast CT patients.

  • Participates in daily Quality Improvement program to ensure scanner in ideal operating condition. Notifies Supervisor of all quality control issues for determination of appropriate action.

  • Maintains CT work area such as checking and cleaning equipment, stocking room and notifying supervisor of needed suplies

  • changing patients, and maintaining clean change room area.

  • Participates in maintaining patient and hospital records by entering data into the Radiology and Hospital Information System as required.

  • Maintains equipment by monitoring its operation and making arrangements for maintenance and repairs as required.

  • Uploading prior CD’s and burning CD’s for outside facilities.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Requirements: Education, Training, and Experience

    • Current CAMRT certification.

    • Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography and minimum (2) year recent related experience.

    • Completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course.

    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.

    Requirements: Skills and Abilities

    • Cardiac CTA experience an asset with knowledge of Cardiac anatomy

    • Demonstrated knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT

    • Experience working with Siemens CT scanner an asset.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of organization policies, procedures and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of current CT theory and practices.

    • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with radiology equipment.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of PACS/Radiology Information Systems, i.e. digital imaging, image archiving and retrieval.

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, coworkers, physicians, other health care staff, and staff of external agencies.

    • Demonstrated ability to deal with and/or guide others in resolution of conflict issues.

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others, this is a small team enviorment working with other modalities.

    • Demonstrated ability to plan and establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.

    • Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.

    • Demonstrated computer skills with current computer applications.

    • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - General and Echo sonography

The Sonographer works independently to perform Ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental policy and procedures. This private imaging facility strives to provide patients with a compassionate, professional experience. We work collaboratively with other modality techs and clerical staff to maintain effective patient and clinic workflow. Join our growing imaging team.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing ultrasound examinations according to established protocols.

  • Ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures.

  • Collaborating with healthcare providers to interpret and report findings.

  • Maintaining accurate documentation and patient records.

  • Participating in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

Requirements: Education, Training, and Experience

  • Current certification with with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

  • Must be a graduate of a recognized training program in Medical Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an asset.

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.

  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
