  • Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative practice where we target the deeper connective tissues of the body (fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones). While we are used to exercising our muscles, it is important that we also exercise our connective tissues, the tissues that surround the muscles. This deeper connection is why yin yoga is often called "yoga of the joints.”

Shapes are held for several minutes, allowing you to penetrate through the muscles thereby accessing the deep fascia of the body. Through this practice, over time the fascia becomes stronger and more resilient, allowing for increased flexibility, mobility and ease of movement. As you hold, you are given the space to turn inwards. You begin to soothe the nervous system which allows for all kinds of health benefits. We slow down and let go of the need to always be doing and learn to truly relax and be in the present moment. Yin Yoga is a healing practice that supports mind, body and soul; the perfect complement to your holistic healthcare program.

Accessible to all levels. Yoga Mats/Props will be provided.

  • We live in a world that demands our constant attention. Things to do. Places to go. People to see. Our never-ending to-do lists. It has become increasingly harder for us to shut off. This leaves both our minds as well as our bodies inflamed and we now know that many illnesses have been linked to spending too much time in a heightened state of stress. It also becomes harder to not only fall asleep, but stay asleep. So, in this slow-paced practice, we intentionally stop the mental computations, the rushing around and learn to simply pause, doing nothing on purpose. We learn to de-stress. Stepping out of the day and retreating to this place of peace, calm and quiet. Beginning the process of activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which allows the body and the mind the opportunity to rest deeply. To recharge and to come back to a state of balance and harmony.

The body is fully supported with a variety of props (provided) as shapes are held upwards of 20 minutes. Restorative Yoga can also be beneficial in speeding up the healing process after an injury or prolonged inactivity. Come experience the profound healing benefits of yoga without placing your body in any kind of stress.

Led by Mindfulness Facilitator, Yoga Teacher and Meditation Coach, Nazanin Khan, these classes are designed to be integrated as part of your healthcare program so you can live your best life, longer.

Meet your instructor Nazanin Khan

I was introduced to Yoga, specifically Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga, following a traumatic car accident. My body was constantly in pain, and my mental health suffered. I tried everything I could to help "fix" myself with no real, lasting benefits, so I gave Yoga a shot. After a few months, my body felt different. I was healing. And then came another shift. Through this practice, I noticed my mind was calmer. I began to share my experience with friends and family and eventually decided I had to share it with others. After taking my 200 YTT, I completed a Specialized Yin Yoga Teacher Training emphasizing Functional Anatomy. I went on to complete a 60-hour extensive Restorative Training. Since then, I've received my Meditation Certification, MBSR, CWMF and Integrated Yoga Therapy Certification and have been teaching/training for several years. We never know when one of the worst things to happen to us is actually a blessing in disguise.
