Our Naturopathic Doctors

At Elysian Health, we pride ourselves on the rigorous qualifications and training of our naturopathic doctors. All of our practitioners hold a four-year bachelor's degree, followed by four years of full-time naturopathic medical school. Throughout this eight-year minimum of training, they study physiology, anatomy, biology, and other sciences in order to diagnose and treat disease, similar to the training of a general practitioner. Our naturopathic doctors are certified by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME), ensuring the highest level of professional accreditation. Additionally, they are active members of professional associations such as the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA), and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

Naturopathic medicine utilizes natural therapeutic methods and modalities to prevent, treat, and promote optimal health. Our Naturopathic Doctors take a patient-centered approach, which means we prioritize addressing the root cause of each individual's ailment. We understand that health is not just physical, but also mental and emotional, so we take a holistic approach that considers all aspects of a person's well-being. Our aim is to help you achieve optimal health and wellness, so you can live your best life, longer.

Our Naturopathic Doctors have a diverse range of options for treating illness including diet, nutrition, supplements, herbs, acupuncture, counselling, cupping, hydrotherapy, and prescribing authority, among others. By offering a holistic and integrated approach to health and healing, Naturopathic Medicine is an evidence-based, coordinated approach to primary health care that is tailored to meet your individual needs

What to expect

First consultation

The first consultation lasts 75 minute and is primarily dedicated to gathering information and educating the patient.

First follow-up

The first follow-up appointment is scheduled within 1-3 weeks after the initial consultation to discuss treatment options in detail, create a treatment plan that resonates with the patient and discuss potential blood work that may be recommended to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Our naturopathic doctors are authorized to order blood work through Lifelabs and also have access to other specialized testing including Food Sensitivity Testing (FST), Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones (DUTCH), Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Mold MycoToxin Testing, Comprehensive Stool Analysis (CDSA) and many more.

Subsequent visits

Subsequent visits are scheduled within 3-4 weeks apart and are primarily focused on monitoring progress, adjusting treatment as needed, and addressing any additional health concerns or goals that may arise between visits.

Personalized Treatments

At our clinic, our naturopathic doctors meticulously craft personalized treatment plans that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each patient. As a result, treatment schedules may vary depending on the unique requirements of the individual. For instance, if acupuncture is recommended as part of the treatment, it may require more frequent visits initially (typically one visit per week for three consecutive weeks).

As patients progress towards healing and wellness, the time between visits will naturally increase to allow for longer periods of independent management. Our team will work collaboratively with patients to determine the optimal frequency of visits to ensure that progress towards their health goals is maintained.

MSP offers partial funding for Naturopathic visits for people on premium assistance. Naturopathic Doctor visits are offered under most extended benefits plans, so be sure to check with your benefits manager. Elysian Health offers direct billing.

Often caused by excessive and prolonged emotional, physical, and mental stress, our team of Naturopaths has ways to help combat it.
